Chia Cranberry Sauce

Description

A healthy twist on a traditional Christmas side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen cranberries
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp ground chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients, except the chia seeds, to a small pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Turn to a simmer and cook until cranberries begin to burst.
  3. Stir frequently.
  4. Once cranberries are cooked, remove from heat and stir in chia seeds and let sit for 20-30 minutes until it thickens.
  5. Serve warm, or refrigerate or freeze to use later.
