Layered Taco Salad

Description

A simple taco salad made with a mixture of warm and fresh ingredients. It’s seriously the best!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb organic, grass-fed beef
  • Taco seasoning (in notes)
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1/2 head iceburg lettuce
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup old cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a medium size pan on medium heat and preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Add beef and taco seasoning and cook for 10 minutes, mixing regularly.
  3. Remove stem and seed your pepper. Dice and add to beef mixture.
  4. Wash and dice lettuce, cucumber, and tomato into bite-size pieces.
  5. When meat is cooked, add to an 8×8 dish. Mix in cheese (optional).
  6. Place in the over for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from oven and top with lettuce, cucumber, and tomato.
  8. Serve warm or cold.

Notes

Taco Seasoning
  1. 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  2. 1/4 tsp onion powder
  3. 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  4. 1/2 tsp paprika
  5. 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  6. 1/2 Tbsp chilli powder
  7. sea salt & pepper, to taste
Optional

Serve with organic corn tortilla chips and fresh salsa.
