Description

This super quick barbecue chicken recipe is perfect paired with a simple side salad, grilled vegetables, or sliced to top a salad. It’s so easy, it will be your new Summer staple!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup tamari, coconut aminos, or low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 4 chicken breasts

Instructions

  1. In a small container, whisk together the syrup, tamari, vinegar, and oil.
  2. Add the chicken breasts and toss to coat.
  3. Let marinade for a minimum of 30 minutes, flipping halfway through if possible.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350F.
  5. Place your chicken on the grill and cook for 5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until cooked.

Notes

Time-Saver Tip

If you don’t have time to marinade, baste the chicken with the sauce while you barbecue to get as much flavour as possible.

Extra Flavour

If you have time, marinade the chicken breast for several hours. You can also baste while barbecuing to get more flavour and colour.

Variation Tip

You can double the sauce in order that the chicken is fully immersed and you don’t need to flip it. This works if you’d like to use your slow-cooker to cook it as well.
