Sweet Maple BBQ Sauce

Description

A sweet Canadian style BBQ sauce to add to your burgers before grilling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 5.5 oz can organic, low-sodium tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar, with the mother
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp blackstrap molasses
  • 2 Tbsp mustard
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, roasted and mashed (see notes)
  • 1/8 tsp cloves
  • 1/8 tsp all spice

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, whisk to combine.

Notes

Storage Tip

Store in a mason jar in the fridge for 7-10 days.

How-To Roast Garlic
  1. Preheat your oven to 425F.
  2. Cut off the top of the garlic bulb, just enough to expose the cloves.
  3. Place on aluminum foil and drizzle with olive oil. Wrap into a pouch.
  4. Bake for 35 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and squeeze the garlic cloves out of their skin and into your food processor.
