Test, don’t guess.

That’s the motto of the holistic health world, and with good reason.

While it’s entirely possible to improve your health and address the root cause without testing, it’s a super useful tool for many reasons and can cut your healing time down significantly.

Now there are dozens of different tests I can recommend for different signs and symptoms, or for any number of reasons – but there are 3 tests that I recommend every woman gets at some point to help give a baseline for where your body is at and how best to improve your overall health.

This is for you even if you are healthy, because understanding your body’s natural tendencies is invaluable information for keeping you healthy and avoiding disease later on in life.

Here are 3 tests I recommend you get in order to improve your health:

1. HORMONE PANEL
Everyone can benefit from a hormone panel, but I firmly believe every woman needs to do it at least once!

This is a game-changer for improving your health, fertility, mood, digestion, sleep, periods, and so much more. Knowing your baseline allows you to tailor your lifestyle, food, and supplements to your body’s exact needs.

While your doctor will do a blood test for some of the hormones, they rarely cover cortisol (an important hormone to consider), and they do not take into account your menstrual cycle at the time of collection, which will affect the accuracy of your results.

To get the most accurate picture of your hormones, I would encourage you to consider a full hormone panel (covering estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S and a 4-point cortisol cycle) done through saliva testing.

2. IgG FOOD SENSITIVITY TEST
Understanding what foods may be triggering reactions such as digestive, emotional, or physical can be an important tool for prevention.

When you aggravate the gut by continuously eating foods it can’t properly digest, breakdown, or absorb, you create inflammation which can lead to leaky gut, bacterial imbalances (like SIBO) or infections (like candida), as well as PMS symptoms, or autoimmune diseases.

Knowing your food triggers allows you to eliminate them from your diet to see immediate changes in your symptoms, encouraging deeper healing and improved health.

It also eliminates the need to do a comprehensive food challenge – which is a big task (but not impossible)!

3. METABOLIC ASSESSMENT PROFILE
How your body detoxifies, digests, and manages inflammation is a key piece of information if you want to understand how to optimize your body’s ability to keep you healthy and protect you from damage – preventing minor and major health issues.

Learning how your body’s basic metabolic processes work also allows you to tailor your lifestyle, diet, and supplements to improve your internal processes – resulting in better overall health, mood, sleep, energy, and digestion.

This simple urine test assesses your protein digestion and dysbiosis, liver health, and oxidative stress – giving you a comprehensive view of your metabolic ability. It’s a great piece of information that can improve all areas of your health.

And while there are dozens more tests I could recommend you take to help determine the best personalized plan for your health, depending on your signs and symptoms, these three should be taken by everyone to get a good look at where your body is at, giving us solid information to create a custom plan to help improve your health and prevent any health issues later on in life.
